Board of Advisors
iRemedy’s Board of Advisors is comprised of senior executives from the hospital, EMR and investment banking industries. They are charged with advising iRemedy’s leadership team on wide-ranging matters relating to governance, strategy, financing and product and service development.
Richard E. Bennett, II
Richard is an investment banker with the Riverside Management Group and a serial entrepreneur currently working with several start-up companies in the consumer, healthcare, and technology industries.
Most recently, Richard served as the Chief Operating Officer of Latin America Corporate & Investment Banking (LACIB) for MUFG (formerly known as Bank of Tokyo), Richard developed and managed a comprehensive global corporate and investment banking capability for Latin American clients. The department grew from a $4B to a $19 billion portfolio conducting business in over 10 Latin American countries including Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and Colombia with annualized revenue exceeding $250 million.
Prior to joining MUFG, Richard co-founded and led Vivo Health, Inc. in 2008 in partnership with North Shore-LIJ Health System. Vivo Health advanced the Health System’s mission of building healthy communities by extending their traditional healthcare care continuum into non-traditional spaces. Richard was responsible for launching new Vivo Health businesses, including retail ambulatory pharmacies, medical supply marketplaces, online consumer resources, a digital signage network, and fitness and wellness centers. Prior to Vivo Health, Richard helped launch two other companies, one in healthcare finance and the other in online data mining and research.
Richard is a graduate of Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majoring in Finance. He is a former member of the University’s Board of Governors and has been awarded the President’s Cup for his role as Chairman of the Leadership Gift Committee. As a student and alumnus, Richard has worked on initiatives in the Georgetown Community to reduce harm and promote healthy behaviors surrounding student alcohol abuse and has published the work in the Journal of American College Health. Mr. Bennett continues to support the Georgetown television station and film festival serving as a frequent judge or alumni panelist after serving as the General Manager of the University’s television station and co-founder of the University’s annual film festival.
Richard holds FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses.
Dennis is the retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CNA Insurance Companies. He served as CNA’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 1992 until 1999.
In addition, he served as Chairman of the Executive Committee of CNA from 1999 to 2001 and from 1990 to 1992 he was CNA’s President and Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for all property and casualty, life, health and investment operations. Dennis joined CNA in 1975 and served as Chief Financial Officer until 1990 when he was named President. Dennis served as Chairman and CEO of mPower Inc., an internet financial advisory service from 1999 to 2001.
Dennis is the Chairman of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAC) which advises the FASB on accounting standards matters. Dennis is also a Director of six public corporations including the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Career Education, Green Realty Trust, Insweb, LoopNet, and MacDonald Dettwiler.
He also serves as a director of 8 other private equity ventures, and a number of non profit organizations including the national board of the Boy Scouts of America, a trustee of Northwestern University, a member of the advisory board of the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a member of the advisory board of Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He is a Director of Northwestern Memorial Hospital and President of the Foundation for Health Enhancement. He also is a professor at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and teaches a class in Corporate Governance.
Dennis received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University, an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago, and an MS in Economics from the London School of Economics. He is a CPA (certified public accountant) and a CPCU (chartered property casualty underwriter).
Peter served as the Chief Executive Officer, President and Chairman of General Officer of ClearBridge Asset Management Inc. (ClearBridge Investments, LLC) from 2009 through 2011. Prior to this, he was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at the various funds in the fund complex of Neuberger Funds at Neuberger Investment Management, Inc. He served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Denali Fund, Inc. from 2000 to 2007.
Peter also previously served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of ClearBridge Advisors LLC. He joined ClearBridge Advisors in 2009, working closely with the senior management team to enhance the firm’s strength in mutual funds and separately managed accounts; and to extend its equity strategies into new areas of opportunity. He was also the President, Chief Executive Vice President of Neuberger Berman Holdings LLC beginning in 1998 and its Director from 1999 to 2003. During that same period, he also held the posts of Executive Vice President at Neuberger Berman Group LLC, where he headed the mutual funds and institutional business at the firm; and Executive Vice President and Managing Director at Neuberger Berman, LLC, heading mutual funds and institutional sales.
